Meanwhile, Capcom may be hard at work on other projects as well. #PRAGMATA DEVELOPER FULL#Our development team is hard at work on this brand new game title, making full use of new next-gen tech, such as ray-tracing, to create a breathtaking and immersive sci-fi setting like never before.” #PRAGMATA DEVELOPER SERIES#“Set in a dystopian near-future on Earth’s Moon, PRAGMATA will take you on an unforgettable adventure, powered by the Next Generation of gaming: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. Capcom provided a somewhat vague description of the game upon its announcement: Capcom have been quite secretive about this upcoming project, and it seems like they’re taking their time developing it. Going on what we know so far about the game, it looks to include some sci-fi elements, though the exact style of gameplay remains unknown. In addition to the teaser, Capcom also provided a new poster for the game: READ MORE: Techland Says Dying Light 2 Has Zero Chance of Another Delay #PRAGMATA DEVELOPER UPDATE#This is the first time we’ve received an update on Pragmata since its reveal during the PlayStation Future of Gaming showcase in 2020 when the PS5 was unveiled. The teaser recently posted by Capcom has confirmed Pragmata‘s delay to 2023, showing (presumably) the RE Engine flexing its muscles with pretty stunning attention to detail in the character model. So far we have absolutely no idea what kind of game it is, despite having a reveal trailer promise something quite different than what we’ve seen before from the developer. I feel that incorporating the youthful sensibilities of digital natives adds a new appeal to IP." Indeed, Capcom sees growth in future by investing in new IP alongside the new talent it is breeding in the Pragmata dev team.Capcom’s mysterious upcoming game Pragmata has received a new teaser trailer confirming that it won’t release in 2022 as originally planned, but will instead release in 2023. "Pragmata is just one such endeavour for our young employees. "Newly hired young employees are given the chance to acquire know-how and skills through hands-on experience in the field as they are assigned to the development of popular IPs and major titles," Capcom reiterate. This is a necessary measure for our long-term growth along with the creation of entirely new IPs, such as Pragmata." This is something we have seen Sony trying to do, with a PlayStation Studios team like PixelOpus, where Sony hired the core staff straight out of University and built around that talent. We will continue to hire more than 100 new graduates and combine that with the hiring of seasoned mid-career professionals in priority fields to utilize our dormant IPs in addition to our existing IPs. "We have not yet amassed enough developers for our future growth. Perhaps more interesting than all of that though, is that Capcom sees itself as skewing older in terms of employees, and wishes to try and change that focus. We now know that the development team is "making steady progress on its development" thanks to the financial report (thanks, PushSquare). Pragmata is slated for 2023 after a delay took it out of the intent 2022 release date.
